What is the transport connectivity like?
On the autobahn, from Hamburg or Munich, for example, Fulda can be reached in just about 3 hours, and thereafter, it is about 25 minutes of country road, well signposted, to Hünfeld and on to Hohenwehrda. Moreover, there is a well connected and busy ICE train station at Fulda. From Fulda, students are picked up by school bus and taken to Hohenwehrda and of course, the other way round to Fulda station. The nearest airport is Frankfurt, which is about an hour away. The children and youth can be accompanied there as well.
What are the advantages of being located in a central spot?
Many cities are at an easily reachable distance from Hohenwehrda. It is just over an hour by car to Frankfurt, Wuerzburg or Erfurt. Kassel is also an hour away, and excursion destinations like the Wasserkuppe mountain in the Rhone or the museum village in Fladungen can also be reached in an hour. Being in central Germany also means being able to cross the state borders from Hesse to Thuringia or Bavaria in just a short time.
